Happy mid-January! We hope that you’re all finding ways to stay warm in one of the coldest winters we’ve seen in a long time, in Southwest Ontario.  The full Heartaches will be back at the St. Regis Tavern this month, Jan. 26th, with Northland Rail Service. This week, there’s something else happening.

Sheesham, Lotus & son with Amanda Lynn Stubley Jan 18 2018

We want to let you know about a show that will heat you up, happening this Thursday night, at the Soho Bar & Grill (formerly the Victoria Tavern).  Sheesham, Lotus & Son have been described as “The Mississippi Sheiks meet Dr. Seuss, as curated by H.G. Wells.”  That’s about the best way we can think of to describe them. Their music uses tuba, fiddle, banjo and homemade amplification devices like the Contrabass Harmoni-phonium. Their show is fun, dynamic and involves many hi-jinx and quite a few antics.

Amanda LynnSheeshloSon is opening the night at 7:30pm with a short set. Tickets cost $10 – email Amanda Lynn for yours at sweetappalachia@gmail.com, or get them at the door while they last.  More information about the show here, and information about Sheesham, Lotus & Son here.
